SSO Tax Calculator

What is enterprise SSO actually costing you?

Enterprise auth gets billed per connection, per client app, per add-on. See what you're really paying, then see it with everything included.

What do you use today?

Each brings its own identity provider, so that's one SSO connection apiece.

Duende is a flat self-hosted license by edition, so connections, SCIM and a custom domain don't change its side. Only the number of client apps moves its tier. On the Authagonal side, only your MAU moves the total.

You're overpaying for SSO, per year

$12,500/yr on Duende vs $828/yr on Authagonal (Pro).

How this is calculated

Duende IdentityServer is a self-hosted license priced by edition. LITE ($5,750/yr) covers just 2 client apps and has no SAML at all; SAML is a STANDARD ($12,500/yr) add-on, and STANDARD covers 10 client apps. So a team with a few apps that needs enterprise SSO is on STANDARD. You also host, patch and build the admin portal, MFA and audit logs yourself, which this doesn't price in.

"Support several client apps" models 5 client applications. Client apps are unlimited on Authagonal and aren't billed per app by WorkOS, Auth0 or Clerk. Only Duende tiers its license by client count: 2 on LITE, 10 on STANDARD.

Both sides are list price x 12 months, no assumed discounts. Authagonal's plan is picked by your MAU; connections, SCIM and custom domains are included at every tier, so they never change the total. Pay annually and Authagonal is 11x monthly (one month free), not counted above.
